This is a good book about an average man that served as a Machine Gunner in WWI. Nothing in this book is ground breaking regarding the use of machine guns during the Great War but it does detail how one man's innate goodness was able to overcome the horrors of trench warfare, wholesale slaughter and the loss of many friends.
